Influence of particle size distribution of conventional fine aggregate and construction demolition waste aggregate in Portland cement mortar

چکیده
Recycled aggregates present a varied mineralogical composition and the grading of these particulates over their particle size distribution influence aggregate properties as well those composites that they form. This study proposed comparative investigation fine from two different origins, namely, natural crushed stone construction demolition waste (CDW). Three distributions were defined, so each had its fineness modulus (FM) ranked in granulometric ranges, following NBR 7211 Brazilian standard. The tests carried out: consistency, bulk density fresh state, compression strength, absorption (by immersion capillarity), dimensional mass variation. results showed impacted mortar that, when analyzed along with distribution, CDW behavior function distribution. Another finding was mortars produced granulometry below lower optimal zone (FM<2.20) presented reduced mechanical physical performance. Therefore, it concluded should not be included same standards conventional regarding composition.

The influence of particle size and curing conditions on testing mineral trioxide aggregate cement
Objectives: To assess the effects on curing conditions (dry versus submerged curing) and particle size on the compressive strength (CS) and flexural strength (FS) of set MTA cement. Materials and methods: Two different Portland cements were created, P1 and P2, with P1 < P2 in particle size. These were then used to create two experimental MTA products, M1 and M2, with M1 < M2 in particle size. P...
متن کاملProperties of Cement Mortar by Use of Hot-Melt Polyamides as Substitute for Fine Aggregate
This paper presents an experimental study on use of hot-melt polyamide (HMP) to prepare mortar specimens with improved crack healing and engineering properties. The role of HMP in the crack repairing of cement mortar subjected to several rounds of heat treatment was investigated. Compatibility between HMP and hydraulic cement was investigated through X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transfor...

The construction industry is the largest consumer of natural resources which led to depletion of good quality natural sand (Fine aggregates). This situation led us to explore alternative materials and granular slag a waste industrial byproduct is one such material identified for utilization it as replacement of natural sand. This paper highlights upon the feasibility study for the utilization o...
متن کاملInfluence of Aggregate Size and Fraction on Shrinkage Induced Micro-cracking of Mortar and Concrete
In this paper, the influence of aggregate size and volume fraction on shrinkage induced micro-cracking and permeability of concrete and mortar was investigated. Nonlinear finite element analyses of model concrete and mortar specimens were performed. The aggregate diameter was varied between 2 and 16 mm. Furthermore, a range of volume fractions between 0.1 and 0.5 was studied. The nonlinear anal...
